Assistant Manager, Net Zero Transition Programme Office

The Net Zero Transition Programme Office (NZTPO) was set up in June 2024 as a new department of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) to spearhead national decarbonisation initiatives to benefit Singapore businesses. Since then, NZTPO has successfully launched national projects which have been featured in the media. These include: the Cost and Carbon Reduction Programme, the Green 100 movement (previously Queen Bee Enabled Sustainability Transition Programme), the Singapore Emission Factors Registry (SEFR), and the NetZeroHub Resource Portal. The team is also secretariat to  the recently launched  national-level Council for a Competitive Climate Transition (C3T), to help companies stay competitive as climate risks intensify and the economy shifts toward lower-carbon growth.

We are seeking a driven individual to join our dynamic, high-performing team and deepen our impact in Singapore’s sustainability landscape. In this role, you will coordinate all of NZTPO’s initiatives, and lead the marketing, external communications and partnership activities that drive our growth. You will work closely with SBF’s corporate members, governmental stakeholders, industry partners, NZTPO’s programme leads and other departments within SBF to grow awareness, engagement and opportunities across the NZTPO’s portfolio. This is a highly visible role with opportunities to shape strategic partnerships, strengthen the NetZeroHub.SG ecosystem and contribute directly to nationally significant sustainability initiatives in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic marketing and external communications across NZTPO’s initiatives (policies, programmes and platforms). Develop and execute integrated outreach campaigns across digital platforms, media opportunities and industry events to strengthen brand visibility, stakeholder engagement and participation. Coordinate and align engagement strategies and content across NZTPO’s initiatives, ensuring consistency. Prepare content for NZH Bulletin (email newsletter), LinkedIn, roadshows, speaking opportunities, events, and/or any other creative communication channels to enhance pipeline of prospective beneficiaries and drive conversion. Beyond marketing, the role seeks to educate businesses on sustainability matters and business strategy.
  • Build and deepen strategic public and private partnerships, including knowledge partners, channel partners, and sponsors. Actively recruit new partners and deepen engagement with existing partners. This role requires deep understanding of businesses’ needs and partners’ capabilities, to strategically design NZTPO’s initiatives in a matter that unlocks maximum synergies between stakeholders.
  • Serve as NZTPO’s initial engagement point for prospective customers, to understand their needs and areas of interest before convening deeper follow-up where there is interest for deeper engagement.
  • Lead and/or support strategic events, such as Ministerial dialogues with senior business leaders. This role requires corporate sustainability expertise to shape the speaking agenda to deliver strategic messaging to business leaders.
  • Support new initiatives as they arise, and take on cross-functional responsibilities where needed to support evolving team priorities and maximise the impact of NZTPO’s initiatives.
  • Serve as SBF’s internal sustainability manager, to ensure that SBF adopts sustainable practices across its operations.
  • Opportunities to take on other projects where available, to advise businesses on how to improve their sustainability performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably Business, Communications, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, business development, partnerships, project management or related fields. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing and/or communications activities, with an understanding of how to drive awareness, engagement and participation.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience engaging external stakeholders, developing partnerships and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
  • Comfortable developing and managing stakeholder/customer pipelines, setting and tracking KPIs, and using data and insights to improve performance.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, with strong organisation, attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to develop and communicate clear and engaging content to diverse audiences.
  • Passion for sustainability and climate action. Sustainability experience is preferred but not essential; candidates should demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn quickly.
  • Proactive, resourceful and comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to take on new responsibilities as NZTPO grows.
