Country Head (East), Singapore Enterprise Centre@New York (SEC@NYC)

As the Country Head (East) for SEC@NYC within the International Business Division (IBD), you will be based in New York covering pan-East US programs and company facilitations. You will report to the North America, Europe & Central Asia (NAECA) Director in SBF HQ. You will be responsible for playing a critical role in ensuring the sustainable growth and performance of SEC@NYC, collaborating with the NAECA market team in meeting all the deliverables and supporting Singapore companies in expanding into and growing their business in the US.

Responsibilities

1. Market Development and Business Facilitation

  • Lead and execute new initiatives/programs, organise platforms such as roundtables and dialogues, to broaden outreach and successfully facilitate project collaborations and business expansion into assigned markets/regions.
  • Facilitate strategic connections and commercial opportunities that lead to partnerships and business outcomes.
  • Establish and develop connections and network in market/region.
  • Execute market engagement strategies and analyse market information.
  • Provide advisory and market knowledge to support companies' internationalisation plans.
  • Identify and appoint new partners and platforms for Singapore businesses.
  • Identify and secure revenue through partnerships, programs and relevant services.

2. Secretariat Duties

  • Develop country briefs to support senior management, external stakeholders and Singapore companies in market intelligence.
  • Engage political office holders and attend related events.
  • Monitor and deliver KPIs, ensuring timely reporting with actionable market and business insights.
  • Manage and influence internal and external stakeholders.

3. Programme Delivery and Customer Experience

  • Oversee and execute events, seminars and in-region business missions to meet department goals, ensure lead generation and quality networking connections for companies.
  • Plan and organise market events within resource allocation, timeline and budget.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 9 years of relevant work experience in international business development.
  • Strong network and relationships with businesses across sectors, chambers, industry associations and relevant government agencies in the region.
  • Strong understanding of the US business environment, industry landscape and market ecosystem.
  • Ability to handle cross-cultural differences and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong business development, process management, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in programme development and management will be advantageous.
  • Experience across both public and private sectors will be advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
